About Gardens and Landscapes

Established since 1989, Wilson Gardening was founded by Gareth Wilson with the vision of creating works of art for people in their own gardens. Since 1989 we have undertaken many courses in garden design and garden maintenance and we are one of the longest established and well known gardning and landscaping businesses in Glossop, Derbyshire Tameside and beyond. Over the years ‘word-of-mouth’ has proved to be the company’s best advertisement and has been key to its success.

Before long, we were taking in some large commissions for our landscaping techniques and our attention to detail, the business has since gone from strength to strength. We also design and create cottage, japanese and mediterranean gardens with features and structures such as lawns, walkways, decking, pergolas, patios, and water features.

We feel very strongly about the environment and our business carbon footprint. We therefore try to work locally so that we can either walk or bus to our consultations.  If however we do jump in the car for those trickier journeys we try to offset these emissions within our planting schemes.

Our website has also been produced as carbon neutral, we recycle our business waste, try to reuse existing garden features in new and exciting ways, as well as and try to use locally sourced or recycled materials in all construction processes where feasible. It all requires a little more thought and planning during the design process but we love the challenges it presents!
